THE WAGES OF SIN

BY MELISSA TAFT

Hey Ladies...I was recently on a phone call with a lovely gal from our Mountain Mover community. (I have decided to keep her name private). She was an ex-drug user (meth), now saved, AMEN, and has been coming to the Wed. night live zoom deliverance calls. She was having a challenge with repentance, the crying and weeping part.

**** Sorrowful repentance is necessary to unlock the demons that have attached through years and years of rebellion and sin before they can be cast out. ****

HEAVY TRUTH: In the example of drugs, we must fully understand that when we use them, we come into agreement with the reasons the enemy convinced us to use them in the first place.

Reasons most people use drugs:

"I want to numb out.”

“I don't want to feel (pain)."

“I want to escape for a bit.”

“It helps me relax, focus, sleep, etc.”

Spirits can come in from all sources, including various medications and even “so called” natural remedies such as medicinal marijuana. They make it very difficult to express healthy emotions, which include weeping sorrowfully before the Lord as an act of repentance and worship.

Every choice we make will always have a corresponding consequence.  When we choose to commit ANY and ALL sin (including drugs), the enemy is given free reign to anesthetize our ability to feel God's love, God's presence and God's prompting.

Partnering with sin will block deliverance.

Paul calls this a "seared conscience" which hinders our ability to recognize the severity of what we have done and the ripple effect of all the collateral damage it caused. This is why it is very difficult to deliver heavy duty drug users and long-term pot users.

Allow me to repeat...we must take responsibility for every decision we make because it always comes with a corresponding consequence. When we are obedient to God, we get the blessings. When we are disobedient, we fall under the curses.

**** LET ME BE CLEAR: God doesn't curse His children! PRAISE GOD!!! ****

Instead, we fall under the power of curses and tormentors brought in by our own free will of sin. Curses, operating through rebellion that follow sin, such as heavy drug use and even recreational drug use include:

  1. Learning disability spirits, including memory loss. (can't read or retain the Word of God.)

  2. Laziness spirits resulting in lack of motivation and creativity.

  3. Lack and poverty spirits as a result of how we spent God's money to feed the addiction. (Including loss of jobs or not finding a successful career.)

  4. Jail and prison spirits (burglary, selling, using).

  5. Slave spirits hooked in through the addiction.

  6. Lying spirits.

  7. Thief spirts to fulfill our lusts and cravings.

  8. Co-dependency spirits.

  9. Homeless spirits.

  10. Transfer spirits through needles, sharing pipes, etc.

  11. Perversion spirits.

These types of curses, and many more, lead to failure in every area in our lives. Reciting 100 times that "Jesus became the curse for me" will not work either. While this is 100 percent truth, sorrowful repentance as described in James Chapter 4, verses 5-9 is required to begin to be released from the curses. (Please read Amplified)!

Verse 5: God is a jealous God who wants time back with His daughters. When we partner with spirits mentioned above, we have decided to spent more time with the devil than with God. Agreed?

I was never addicted but I tried several drugs in my college shenanigan days: pot, ecstasy, coke (gave me a great high and an invincible feeling). The devil convinced me my drug use wasn’t severe, therefore it wasn’t sin.  I had been deceived for years thinking: I only "experimented." I only tried this or that a "few” times. It was "back in college." Oh, and my favorite? That was before I was "a Christian."

Justifying sin will not lead to deep repentance. The wages of all sin, past present and future is death. Even after we become a Christian. This includes: death of relationships, death of finances, premature death, career death and death of true intimacy with God.

Do not be duped into the wine cooler grace of Christianity that says: "It's all good. That was in my past." God wants a chaste bride. A clean bride. A sold-out Bride. A bride that has made herself ready by cleansing all impurities of lives that served another master.

AMEN?

It’s time to get into the secret place of repentance. Ask God to show you what He needs to. Not out of shame, but out of love in order to expose all the spirits that have infected you through all your sin. Remember, there are many other sins attached to the original one committed that bring in more tormentors and curses we are oblivious to. The miracle list will be a great guide for you as you do this. This can get messy, but it’s worth it for long-lasting freedom!
