Post-Deliverance Instructions

Now that you have been delivered from evil spirits and/or a mental, emotional, or physical illness you must take several aggressive steps to maintain the freedom you have received so you do not become re-infected with spirits or illness.

Many people who are delivered from spirits become re-infected! It can be avoided by building an intimate relationship with Christ through the renewing of your mind and by continually being sanctified through the power of the Holy Spirit. Additionally, please take the following steps seriously in order to successfully continue your deliverance.

1. RECEIVE THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST: (ACTS 2, 8, 10, 19, JOHN 14, 16, 1 COR 14). Without the Baptism of the Holy Spirit your chances of being permanently healed and delivered diminish significantly. Speaking in tongues and operating in the other gifts of the Holy Spirit are critical components that enable the Dunamis power of God to continue to free and heal you.

2. ELIMINATE ALL TRACES OF SIN FROM YOUR LIFE IMMEDIATELY SUCH AS:

• Negative thoughts, attitudes, emotions and words Unforgiveness, bitterness, anger and resentment among many others are main routes for demonic re-infestation. You must be willing to release any and all negative feelings or thoughts about yourself and others to the Lord in order for Him to heal and deliver you. Additionally, taking offenses will ruin your spiritual life and disintegrate your health. (JOHN 16:1) All of the above are the root cause of auto-immune disease. Your words will also keep you bound and sick (life and death are in the power of the tongue). Reprogramming the way you think, believe and speak, through the renewing of your mind, will be non-negotiable with regards to maintaining long-term freedom and healing. • Sinful friends and relatives

Demons will use people in your life to re-gain access back into you in the form of soulties, romantic relationships, unsaved relatives, carnal best friends, sinful work associates and anyone else they can use to encourage you to sin. Demons will also use these people to hurt you or to make you upset/angry so that you take in deadly offenses. Be careful! These are all demonic set-ups designed to re-infect YOU. Remember, the people doing it are already infected. Do not take the bait by receiving a wound or taking an offense or it there can be severe backlash from the demons, stalling your healing and deliverance. You must understand that these are nothing more than demonic strategies designed to get you off track. (PROVERBS 10:12, 17:19. 19:11)

• Sexual sin

You must be willing to end any relationship causing you to fornicate or compromise in any way. (Ephesians 5:3) God has a wonderful husband picked out specifically for you. He will send that person to you after your deliverance and inner healing are complete enabling you to become spiritually mature. Additionally, all forms of sexual perversion must be eliminated immediately or they will allow the demons to come back in with a vengeance. This includes the obvious, such as homosexuality/bisexuality, fornication and pornography and other forms of sexual perversion such as: movies, lingerie, magazines, sex toys, masturbation, sodomy, internet sites or chat rooms, phone sex, sexting, etc.

• Hobbies and recreational activities

(ROM 12: 1-2). You must carefully reconsider what you used to enjoy before your deliverance. Things such as worldly and fleshly movies, sports, music (heavy metal, hiphop, gangster rap, techno, country rock, acid rock, hard rock, jazz), videos, DVDs, video games, carnal TV shows, comedy clubs, bars and happy hours must be removed from your life. Also, all forms of new age such as yoga, guided meditation, reiki, energy work, massages, martial arts and others must be eliminated. (Please see new age list to avoid for additional information). A good rule of thumb regarding the process of elimination is anything that is considered sin or a stumbling block in order to distract your affections and attention away from the Lord and does not glorify Him. As you grow in God’s Word, The Holy Spirit will continue to reveal anything that is grieving or quenching His power operating in your life. (1 THESSALONIANS. 5:19; EPHESIANS 4:30; ISAIAH 63:10) Always keep in mind, permanent freedom requires taking the narrow road.

3. READ THE BIBLE, PRAY IN SOLITUDE AND SPEAK IN TONGUES AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE:

Daily renewing of the mind will be essential for on-going deliverance. The Word says: “it’s the truth that sets you free.” Reading and understanding the bible take away the hold (strongholds) that demons have over you. Memorize several scriptures throughout the month and quote them daily. Also, spend quality time in prayer daily which also weakens the demons. This can be done throughout the day or even during the night watches. (See teaching on The Watches of the Night) Additionally, speaking and singing in tongues off and on all day long is important for self-edification and power (I COR. 14). It must become second nature to you. Also, be continually grateful and begin your day with worship.

4. START ATTENDING A SPIRIT FILLED, FULL GOSPEL CHIRCH OR HOME GROUP:

Surround yourself with people that believe in the spirit world and understand the moving of the Holy Ghost and demons. You will need their prayers, support, and experience. Non-full gospel denominations are almost powerless against demons. Also, be extremely discerning and cautious when choosing a church or any other activities such as conferences, bible studies, special events or seminars as they can also infect you. 5. CONTINUE YOUR DELIVERANCE UNTIL YOU ARE FREE:

Deliverance is not something you go “do” or “get” once or twice. Instead, look at it as an ongoing by-product of choosing to become a vessel of honor for The Lord. Keep in mind also that the more serious you are to become free, the freer you will become…. over time. Going through deliverance can often feel difficult, over-whelming, frustrating and even dis-heartening at times, especially not realizing that the sin life styles and corrupt mind-sets we have adopted over the course of our entire lives has given the demons a lot of legal ground.

We must keep this in mind so we do not give up.

Having the right perspective along the journey will be key. Think of successful deliverance like peeling off layers of an onion, layer by layer. This expectation will strengthen your determination to continue to fight! Common sense says that if deliverance was as easy as just casting out a demon or two, the entire church and all of mankind would be delivered and healed. Unfortunately, an abundance of false perceptions currently being popularized and sensationalized on social media platforms give people an unrealistic idea of what true, heartfelt deliverance actually is. This can be extremely hurtful to the body of Christ.

It is vital to understand that deliverance is a process! You can also expect attacks both mentally and physically as the demons retaliate. The demons will even go dormant giving you a temporary sense that you’ve been delivered completely in order to get you to stop or slow down the process. Anticipate these things ahead of time. They will prey on your lack of knowledge regarding the spiritual world in order to do what they need to, to get you off course. It's a trick!
